The Northern Lights Lantern Festival Board of Directors takes pride in our ability to come together and make crucial decisions in a timely manner regarding the festival. We understand that there will always be comments and disappointments when such a beloved event is canceled, and our board members feel that deeply too. The festival has become a cherished tradition, an event everyone looks forward to like a homecoming. However, we also have a fiduciary responsibility to gather all the pertinent information and make an informed decision as quickly as possible. It’s essential that we communicate this decision to everyone involved in making the event happen (our volunteers, sponsors, performers, vendors and suppliers) by 8 AM on Friday to avoid incurring additional costs and ensure that deliveries are not made. Finally, we must also inform the community, who consistently show up and make this event a true success year after year. Thank you to our sponsors for their continued support, those who had signed up to volunteer and our dedicated board of directors, who work hard to plan the festival.
